iCan Bike - Mississauga, ON

We understand that the vast majority of people with disabilities never have the experience of independently riding a conventional two-wheel bicycle during their lifetime. Research shows that over 80% of people with Autism and 90% of people with Down syndrome never experience this thrill. Defying these odds is why we exist!

Registration for this camp is only open to current clients of ErinoakKids and will be available at www.erinoakkids.ca in March 2026

To ensure the safety of our riders and the best use of our limited resources we have established certain criteria that all riders must meet to be eligible to attend an iCan Bike program. The rider must:

- be at least 8 years old (no upper age limit)
- have a disability
- walk without an assistive device (e.g., walker or cane)
- be able to side step swiftly to both sides
- be able to wear a properly fitted bike helmet at all times when on a bicycle
- have a minimum inseam measurement of at least 20” when measured from the floor wearing sneakers
- not exceed 220 lbs

"I want to thank you so much for the wonderful experience Kira had at camp last week. I truly cannot believe she is the same girl who cried and screamed enough to have the neighbors out when I attempted to teach her at home. She is now whizzing around the church parking lot every morning before my husband leaves for work. This has done wonders for her confidence; she feels a little less different from her friends.
